Well i've been lurking about waiting to put something worthy up in here and hopefully you guys will appreciate it
Well the story goes that I have a mad jdm van fetish and have been looking for something for a long time. Most have either been exported, broken up or rotted into oblivion - I'm talking Hiaces, Urvans etc but they are so hard to come by these days its tragic
Anyway one saturday morning I was heading to Bromyard with fellow Retro Rider H100ad to look at another Shogun, when we spot parked in the grounds of a cottage this lovely Homy!! Never seen one in the flesh before but it looked awesome - if slightly sorry for itself with flat tyres and flat paint. We stopped and had a look from a distance, but nobody was in.
We left then conversations go something like " how awesome was that, imagine rolling that. Yea I know shame its the wrong time, bit skint, no use for it, nowhere to keep it etc. Yea your probably right"
"Shall we be cheeky and leave a note to see if they would sell, they probably wont but....................."
Anyway following week I get a call from the guy saying he 'needs' to sell it, come for a look/see. So we did, but it wasn't as nice up close as it was from a distance
Side door caved in, rear light lense smashed and bodged up, tailgate door card missing, corroded wheels, kids scratched every panel with the stones from the drive and a fractured sunroof - gutted. Why do people have these things and treat them like sh*t is beyond me
But on the plus side it went straight thru the mot so its on the road.
Its got the lot, twin roofs, telly, rear a/c, you name it its got it
But then we drive it, its done 91,000 kilometers and I know its cliche but jesus its soooo nice - everything is tight no knocking, no play anywhere and the 2.7td engine is sweet as a nut - we had to have it ;D
Anyway, i've been gradually working on it with adam and where having a blast on it although getting hold of parts for it is proving 'challenging' shall we say. ahem No idea what the plan is but all I knew was we had to save it and give it the tlc it richly deserves, it literally is the coolest thing i've ever been involved with - automotive wise anyway!
Anyway so i'lll let the pictures do the talking
Ghetto light repair, niiiiiiice
Jesus....
Ouch, that hurts...
And as if by magic, dent be gone! Massive thanks to adam for arranging fo this to be fixed
We got stuck into the wheels today. I was all up for a bit of gloss black, as they're only fake split rims or so i thought - but turns out they are in fact genuine split rims, winner ;D
Adam voted for BMW Graphite Grey centres and a polished outer rim. So we did, not show winning results but a damn sight better - and so they should we've put 20 hrs into these rims jointly and we ain't finished yet , we've got the rears to do yet
Bit of a difference I think.....
Stay tuned for more updates
