Was watching the superb 1980's TV adaption of the sci-fi classic "Day of the Triffids", on as part of the BBC British Sci-fi season. Being a mid 80's show there were plenty of old motors on display but lo, what should the heroine Josella be driving but a bright Orange Peugeot 104 saloon.
Of course the plucky Pug (still pretty new at this time) chooses the wrong moment to conk out, pitching it's owner into mortal danger.
oops!
what was intereting was the sheer number of much older cars on the roads at that time compared to today when a car over 10 years old is a fair rareity.
Other starring car roles: the white Mk 4/5 cortina that Bill and Josella take to leave London. bill stalls it climbing up a kerb to go rouind a lorry and our heroes are currently trapped inside by a mob of blind people bangn on the car in a Day of the Dead stylee!!
