Funny this has come up.
Me and my boss were talking about this yesterday, and there is a little bit of truth in there, basically the Scan chip in the Head unit (which comes in most head units) is the same as the one in a Sky box\home radios\PC TV Tuner\Some old NTL set tops. However Swapping one would just cause you to only pick up the Radio channels, also the SKY+ box has never been hacked and ran for longer than 2 weeks as it relys on Skys update service to run for any longer.
So about 98% is bull, Why would you swap it to pick up only radio, I bet some dumb ass fool is at home wondering why his homebrew Sky box aint working. DICK
