I'm doing my year abroad project on motor racing here and just wondered who's actually been? I'm only in the planning stages at the moment, but I wanted to know if it'd be OK to email people, probably in the new year, when I start to write it up, so that I can get some different experiences of the place.
Thanks in advance
Fifi

it doesn't matter if it's a Morris Marina or a Toyota Celica - it's what you do with it that counts

Interestingly, Le Mans is twinned with my hometown, Bolton.
Unfortunately, Bolton no longer has a 24hr race, but is still twinned.
*apologies for pointless post **Bolton may have never had a 24 hour race at all - I always wondered why it was twinned when the most obvious fact about Le Mans is that it has a 24hr race...

There's a huge sign down near the track with a list of European towns that it's twinned with. We've also managed to find a road named after Paderborn, which is its (and Bolton's) twin in Germany. "Rue de Bolton" so far has remained elusive though. ;D We have actually considered emithering Peter Kay, since there's a whole 3 English people living here, to see if he'd come over and entertain us! *edit* I just had an intrigued moment and checked my map. There is indeed a "Rue de Bolton" in the centre of Le Mans. I'll be in town over the weekend, so I shall take some photies.

I've been there! It's really weird seeing pictures of the town centre with people in it! Normally it's really quiet. And I ain't seen no Hawaiian Tropic girls yet...been here 3 months! Do they keep them in a box or something?
