after the recent downpipe/calliper nightmare on the mighty benz she went in for her retest today
i left her there to promises of "i'll put my dark glasses on and get the white stick out for you this time mate" ;D
i arrive back a while later to be asked "does it smell of anything in here"
"no"
"it doesnt smell of petrol to you?"
"no"
"oh, cos when i got the car up i noticed that the pipe into the fuel pump was damp. When i touched it the jublilee clip exploded and showered me with fuel"
"oh .... fcuking car"
"yeah - i fixed it for you though cos i don't wanna have to retest that bl00dy thing again!"
;D
at least i have the ticket now!
perhaps the corner has been turned .......

LMAO. I once took a Vauxhall for an MOT. It had issues with hot startig so I wanted to leave it running. Unfortunately the water pump was past its best and showered the tester with coolant. This did not put him in the best of moods. it failed.

Great result Keefy - 12 months ticket is always cause for celebration LMAO. I once took a Vauxhall for an MOT. It had issues with hot startig so I wanted to leave it running. Unfortunately the water pump was past its best and showered the tester with coolant. This did not put him in the best of moods. it failed. I took a senny 24V ex polace for an MOT once and the tester stuck it on the ramp did all the running checks emissions, lights etc and lifted it in the air realising the engine was still running he reached in and took the key out well a bit of it came out!!!! Everything else was fine but with the key still in it the engine turned of and for some reason he must have got it semi out cos the steering lock was on he couldn't get it off the ramp....... Middle of the day - MOTS booked in for the rest of the day he wasn't a happy bunny No worries i said got a lump hammer and a cold chisel I'll soon have it out of the way He was amazed when I sat in the car and took the lower steering column covers off with the first blow (I had spares ) and then chiselled both the tamper proof heads of the screws that hold the steering lock assembly to the colum with thesecond and third blows One more gentle tap and and whole assembly then hanging on the starter contactor wires so popped the switch off and stuck a screw driver in the switch and started her up...... He was totally gobsmacked All I said is "signs of a misspent youth" He passed it ;D
