In July 2011 I sent a PM to a guy on another forum about a car he had for sale.
Yesterday I got a PM saying "best to phone me about it mate, come and have a look"
I know some people are slow at responding to messages, but...
Some of my best buys took a long time to do the deal.
Maybe at this rate I'll have a job by the time we get to it...
LOL
G'wan, odd car seller/buyer stories?

My Capris are haunting me. This one I sold in 2003-ish: Last year I got an email from the current owner, who'd got my contact details via Retro Cars mag (I'd mentioned the Capri in an article), saying that he'd like to have a chat about the car. I got all excited, thinking he might want to sell it. But he never replied. This one, my mkII Capri Ghia-based kit car, I sold a few years ago: A few months later the buyer emailed and said 'by the way, I volunteer at Brooklands, which is where the car now lives if you want to pay a visit.' So I went down there and he gave me a ride around the Brooklands banking in it. This one I sold in around 2007-ish, I think: The guy I bought it from emailed me via eBay the other day to say 'remember that Capri I sold you? Don't suppose you've still got it, have you?'. I don't, of course, but I do still have its steering wheel as an ornament in my living room...

The Vanguard 6 Vignale that I brokered for my landlord..a very early post of mine on here 3yrs ago..Ross threw $2000 at a garage and its his daily driver..about a year later..we wanted more history on it..so I emailed the 21yr old who we'd bought it off.. The reply was from his Mother saying that the lad had dropped dead from heart failure 3 weeks earlier..playing indoor cricket..honestly..i really got so sad over that..their only son.. After the lad sold the Vandie..he put a rotary in Mazda 323 wagon...
