	hey guys my friends little L plate 1.4 8v corsa, has had overheating issues for a while now (2 years ) and finally its cooked its self. if he drives it for a few miles its get very hot ,it starts to chatter/ rattles and then cuts out. upon trying to restart ,the engine struggles to turn over, seized if you will. leave it a few hours and its starts up. the only thing i could think of was the head being warped and locking the cam up? any suggestions? unfortunately hes not to fussed on tinkering with cars , so its probably going to be scrapped which seems a waste to me . but just wondering if its worth trying to fix it for him or is it a lost cause? thanks in advance Andy

	If it's been got hot enough to struggle to turn over, then it's not long for this world. The tightness is more than likely in the bottom end, a head would have to be very very warped to make the cam bind up. The chatter/rattle is pre-ignition caused by the massively overheated engine ignition the fuel before the spark plug fires. Is there even any water in it at all?

	unfortunately the car was run very low on water quite a few times. low maintenace owner may whip the head off and see what the damage is. can lob it in the boot if it looks terminal. maybe i can convince him to put the calibra turbo lump in it thats in the garage ;D
