Hi!
I have a question about UK or better RHD W123 Mercs.
Namely, the front frame rail. Right above the horns, on each side. There are two smal bulges on each side.
On LHD W123s, these are different on each side. On the left side (in the picture), they are closed, the bottom panel is bulged in to close them (pictured). On the right side, they are open and the bottom panel is flat.
What I want to know: are RHD W123s the exactely same (resp. have them closed on the right side and open on the left side), or are they mirrored?
I know it's a bit of a inconvenience as you have to get under you car, that'S why I want to explain why I want to know this. I and someone else noticed, that these bulges are always the same. And we wondered, if these are perhaps pre-deformed for offset-crash situations. Or if the closed ones act as a 'buffer' or protection for rough towing (to be pulled out).
Which leads to the next question: on which side is the tow hook on RHD cars?
Thanks a lot for your help!!
Cheers,
Jan
