I'm selling my 740i I've had a for a few months and enjoyed it very much thanks to that v8. It's a little rough around the edges but it's solid enough and the interior is in great condition.
It's recenty developed a fault were the autobox acts a bit odd when your in drive as it seems to hold onto the gears for too long although oddly it seems to behave itself a bit better when in 4th rather than drive. It doesn't seem to make any odd noises or anything and hasn't gone into limp home mode.
The problem seemed to start when I changed the wheels from 18" to 17" wheels so it could be a problem with the adaptive autobox getting it knickers in a twist or it may just need a gearbox oil flush. Who knows!
Body work wise there's a few blebs of rust around the worst being one arch and a dent in the boot lid from where a slate hit it (see pics). The the batterys on it's way out, the rear discs have quite a lot of surface rust on them, oh and the TV tuner stereo bit doesn't work.
Good stuff is there's new front discs and pads, the interior is in really nice condition. The seats are all electric (head rests etc) and it has a sunroof, which is a little sticky. The wheels are 17" team dynamics with good tyres and probably worth a couple of hundred quid on there own. It has a HID headlamp kit and the newer type clear indicators. The engine sounds great and is still really powerful even though it's done 272k. It also has a gen-u-win built in car phone although you need a larger sim for it to work. Looks cool though. There's a big bag of receipts for work previously done to it.
Break it, run it or fix it. Remember it's a £400 car so it's far from perfect and there may be other things I've missed.
It's £400 firm so no offers please.
Fire away with any questions.
