Running a base model 205 XE as my London car at the moment - Loving the peasant motoring vibe, but I've had cause to undertake a couple of trips to Scotland recently, and while it's fine in the dry... In the wet, it's a bit of a liability (especially when hitting standing water at M Way speeds).
OEM tyres are 135/60/13
Wheels are 108 x 4 - Offset 15-20 - Bore 65.1
My understanding is that the 106 (4 stud models), 306 and 309 share the above measurements.
A set of 14" 306 steels, shod with 185/65/14 would make a useful addition...
I guess a breakers would be the place to go - But I haven't set foot in one since I was a teenager in Scotland, and back then they used to let you roam free and car climb... Can't imagine they do now!
Any recommendations for steels & part worn tyres in NW London? (Or failing that, London and its surrounds in general?)
Cheers!
