I'm sure that this question has been answered before, but I can't find an answer anywhere!
I've got some 8 inch wide 15's that I'm looking to get some 195's fitted onto for my mk2 scirocco that has been revived from the dead recently.
I live in Oxford and have been to a lot of places who are not wiling to fit them for me - does anyone know anywhere I can get them fitted - either in Oxford or London - I am regularly in both (in fact I'm sending this post from the Oxford tube..!).
Any Advice would be much appreciated!

Just get a tyre fitter to put the valves in and pop the tyres on, no more. Now get some Sainsburys Basics hairspray and a blowtorch. Easy.... Once seated on the beads, take them back to the tyre place for balancing. Here's something like a 175 going onto a 9.5" rim....195 onto an 8" will be a doddle. First attempt was fun, but I missed the valve with the airline and the tyre popped off the bead due to the vacuum caused when the flame goes out: Wedging the tyre inflator in with a block of wood made things much easier: Like I say, getting some 195's onto an 8" rim will be very easy.

love it you need a clip on head for the inflator, had one of those plus a cable tie for the lever when I worked in a garage (takes a bloody long time to inflate a 365 65 22.5"!)

Hey Guys thanks for all the advice and pics - I didn't realise that the stratch was that small - was expecting bigger... According to the maths behind it it should sit fine with the car, but the difference between the figures and the curve I was expecting in the wall were a little different... I suppose it is only a cm or so! I'll have an other hunt around but may be in London soon so might drop you a line quackshot
