I think i'm finally on the home stretch for the MG and I'm now trying to do all the little things left over.
One of which wasn't really bothering me until yesterday when it occured that it probably 'shouldnt do that'
basically, if i start the car in neutral, then put the clutch in, the revs drop ~200 rpm.
also, if i try and start the car with the clutch in, the starter barely turns, as if the battery is flat.
I have only driven it in and out the garage, so haven't gone over about 3mph yet, but there is a slight whine coming from the gearbox area when i drive in and out.
setup:
it's a marina 1275 engine on the original 1970 mg box, I had the flywheel machined to take the gearbox. original clutch, prop etc.
what have i done wrong ?
my next plan is to put it on stands and run it up to speed with the wheels off the ground and see what noises it makes.
