I have just got myself 4L of 801-72 for a very reasonable price and from what I can see on data sheets etc the correct hardener for this is 965-60.
The seller has some 965-53 for sale and advises it is the correct one for the epoxy primer.
It appears the 53 is for CV paint...commercial vehicle. The important factor here is not so much the type of vehicle. Its more that their 90 line/CV range is essentially a water based system.
The epoxy primer for the CV system is 801 703 (green) or 801 704 (grey)
I may have answered my own question but it seems to me the 801-72 is only for use with the non CV hardener 965-60 and the 801-703/704 for the CV hardener 965-53
