currently in the process of rebuilding the guages for the racer and I need the rubber doughnuts that go under the bezzle, anyone know if they are available, would rather buy them than cut my own as the beige kitten needs doing, as does dads scimitar, and thats about 16 guages. I need them for both 52mm and 80mm guages. I also want somthing abit better than black plastic pipe to use on the oil pressure guage, copper or braided lines would be nice, anyone know where you can buy it with fittings? (just thought - is copper brake line the same size?) some of the offending gauges...:

Are they just like really big O-rings? If so, I've got that sort of thing from a bearings supplier before. Mine was the compressor body seal for a CT-26 turbocharger, so pretty big. They did all kinds of sizes, and only cost a few pence

Smith's gauges are the best I have only got an oil pressure gauge in the Viva at the moment but I am going to get some more off E-bay. This company sells O-rings online, never used them and minimum order of £10.00 but that would probably buy you more than you will ever need Braided gauge hose on E-bay bit pricy though but gives you an idea of what you can get, should think you could just get the hose yourself and the fittings and make your own custom pipe?

You can get the O-rings and new bezels form here: HoldensAs an aside amp gauges are rarely used these days as they require you to have your main battery feed running behind the dash. As a result many are old enough that they wouldn't know what to do with all the amps that an alternator can put out as they were originally intended for Dynamo set ups. Volt gauge might be safer and more worthwhile for keeping an eye on the electrics.

Definitely. Will loose you that one really mis-matching dial face too Get a voltmeter from a Dolly, it's in the correct format

Was there ever a oil pressure gauge to match those Triumph ones? Wouldn't mind one for the Midget...

Yea - both full-face and partial face My stack - I prefer full-face Smiths gauges as they're easier to read. And the partial face one, to match the existing gauges - Just eBay search (title & description, in car parts) for "Smiths oil pressure" and it'll bring up a load tinyurl.com/ymg3as < for example I sold both my partial-face ones but if I come across any more I'll shout

I really like these but haven't felt the need quite enough to stump up the dough for one yet.

There's something really bad about those gauges though - IIRC it's either the chemicals inside them, or something that affects the readings wildly as the gauge gets older. I think they have to be disposed of very carefully!

Yea - both full-face and partial face And the partial face one, to match the existing gauges - Similar, but the face, she is upside-down? And pointer is slightly different...

Smiths gauges are a great way to make a few quid, I must have made £100 profit out of selling about 15 gauges in the last year! Full faces make a fortune, partial faces less so because they were used in minis and other common production stuff alot.

Oh yes, forgot about that ;D Keep thinking about the voltmeter still!
Now that you mention it I'm not sure if you can! I've always had the drop-down style ancillery ones.....earlier Dollies had drop-down gauges to match.....random. I'm certain I've seen one tho....
I'll keep my eyes peeled!

Gordon Equipment (Durite) do a copper capilliary kit for oil pressure gauges, part number 0-533-98. Presumably they will be available from Auto Electrical outlets.
