Model: Fiat Punto Sporting 1.2 16V
Year: 1999 (T)
Mileage: 62,000
Tax: May 2012
MOT: 26/09/12
Pics: See below
Location: Bristol
Price: £600
Bought last year to overcome car shortage as the daily had blown a head gasket.
Please read last years excellent advert by Bruce for a lot of excellent background info: retrorides.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=bugmot&action=display&thread=101980
Why sell? We needed an automatic small car. After a long search I have found one so the Punto is now surplus to our needs.
Since June it has completed the 22 mile round trip every workday with one exception. This was 2 weeks ago when the fuel pump gave up the will to live. Replaced along with some new leads. This has very nearly eliminated the hesitation Bruce mentions.
Usual running costs have been minimal with a failed MOT for a 'stuck' shock absorber and a blocked washer jet. All sorted for £30 ;D. Also the exhaust has been replaced along with the wiper motor as both were getting a little too LOUD. Oil and filter were changed last august along with plugs.
As you can see It still cleans up well.
I have really enjoyed driving the car as it has lots of get up and go and is genuinely fun. However, driven with a light foot it returns good fuel economy.
To finish off it needs 4 new tyres for the next MOT in 4 months time. Perhaps an opportunity to put another set of alloys on it. ;D
Please come and have a look and a test drive. I live 10 minutes away from the M4/M5 interchange at Almondsbury. (Junction 15/16)
Cheers,
Ewan
