The best bit of advice I can offer is don't buy one which has been owned by the above  I can't believe that it took jack that long to sell his mk1, I sold by lhasa mk1 quicker for £1600 and that was a nail in comparison.... Phil, how are you getting 125 horses out of a carbed scirocco, 2 Litre? I'd go mk2, I got this with 135 bhp of GTI engineering finest for the same as a tatty mk1 GTI.  oh, and hi ;D |

Phil, how are you getting 125 horses out of a carbed scirocco, 2 Litre? Well, since you asked: Weber carb, with K&N panel (in std airbox), rejetted on rolling road. Manifold hedgehog shaved Head stripped, skimmed and rebuilt, with a gentle bit of port smoothing/shaping and matched to manifolds, with Kent GS2 cam and adjustable pulley (dialled in on rolling road). 1800 block lovingly stripped and rebuilt. Mk1 'dual outlet' manifold and downpipe, Jetex exhaust. All by my own fair hand (apart from skimming the head, and operating the rolling road, but you know what I mean). And all only about 7k miles ago, and for only £650! (and that's without going into the poly bushed bits, and uprated suspension and... and.. I'll shut up now) |
