ok astras generally arent that bad, but ive been stripping bits n bobs off the p reg one to go on to the m reg one, (as you do...)
managed to get the mirrors, rear bumper, vectra disks and calibra calipers, and gsi front bumper off, then fitted to the p reg ready for selling: the black m reg bumpers, mirrors, some nearly new diesel disks and calipers from another p reg.
all was going well until i decided to do more than one thing at once, started fitting the calibra disks and calipers to the m reg, and dropped a caliper, snapping the bleed nipple off so i need to grab another one of those... also when putting the m reg bumper on the p reg car, ( p reg had previously been a cat c write off and has been very badly repaired) the os hole didnt line up correctly. as when the new(used and actually dented) front panel was welded in it was not correctly aligned (possibly due to the damage on it!)
so now one end of the bumper sits 1 inch lower at the front, not terrible now, as i had some spray to cover the red paint where the bit that was hiding behind the gsi bumper was fitted and badly sprayed. I'm not happy with it, or myself for killing a caliper, so now its only waiting for me to find and fit caliper, then bottom pulley and timing belt, then we can see if the 2.0i 8v engine is any good...
other than that its progressing, and my micra door is painted, i just need to re fit the internals before fitting that.
