Some time ago I bought a pair of 15" Japanese 4x4 2 piece split rims in the view of either adapting the centres to a car PCD or getting some centres made. Anyway after finding out that alloy welding is pretty complicated (unless you know exactly what you're dealing with) and custom made centres turned out to be expensive. I lost mojo and the barrels got thrown in the spare room and left.......
Well until now, I've recently moved house, the barrels surfaced and have sat on the my garage bench. I also have a set of 14" Astra steel wheels (conveniently the same pcd and centre bore as the Chevette). Now when you place the barrel on top of an Astra steel it seems to, well fit and look good.
Anyway is it possible to simple cut the face and a small section of the steel wheel drill holes in the left overs and then bolt it to the barrel of the split rims?
Pics to get what I'm on about.....
