well, its been awhile since i last posted on here, i did have a 123 estate, which needed alot of work, and being new to the mercs, felt abit out of my depth,so it got sold on.
i always preferred the 124 wagons, so i decided to sell of all my vw bug parts etc, which stood at nothing anyhow, so with a budget of £800, started looking.
there was 4 things it had to be,
1, an estate.
2, diesel.
3, a 7 seater.
4, have a tow bar !
i came very very close to buying a couple of 124 salloons that came up on here for sale at very good £500. prices, and almost messaged the people selling, but i managed to resist and stick to my guns for an estate. ;D
got out bid a few times on ebay, but then one evening, this merc came up,had only been on about half an hour with a buy it now of £800, curse word pictures and a curse word write up, didnt show very much in the pics, but the guy selling assured that the new owner would not be dissapointed !
as i squinted at the rear end shot, ( all 5 pics were taken from above the no. plate upwards with no interior pics ! ) i could just make out what looked like a seat belt in the rear ! i sent him a message asking if it was 5 or 7 seater, ( not stated in the ad ! ) and he replied it has a kind of seat that comes out of the floor !!
i took a big risk and bought it, I'm in leics and this was up in blackpool, so me and my mate shot up monday tea time, to be pleasently surprised with what is now my merc.
body was good with just the useual rust spot on the drivers front wing, the interior was immaculate, ( inc drivers bolster ) and all the windows work, central locking etc, with just the sunroof not working, which i hav'nt got round to looking at yet.
only 2 of the catagorys were fullfilled, its an estate and a 7 seater. no towbar and its a 220, but I'm not realy fussed as she criuses beautifully and good on petrol, so I'm megga chuffed.
ive had it for about 3 weeks now, no probs at all and just love the feeling of having something solid feeling when cruising around.
its mot'd till next march and taxed til december, so hopefully get to enjoy it ;D
plans for it are,
lowering all round,
alloys,
drive it ! ;D
