Right, after a couple of rude conversations with a couple of local scrap yards along the lines of " It's just a shell ? " I'm going to ave to charge for that mate etc.... I'm wondering if anyone knows of any scrap metal dealers in Herts that I can take my dead polo's shell along to ? or anyone want a mk2 polo shell, not rotten ......got V5 etc ....

Are there not any caravan dwellers nearby who would take it? Unfortunately you're the wrong end of 'Herts' for my hiab-owning bud to come & fetch it

I'm going to get onto the local travellers in the morning, I just fancied a few quid off the shell myself rather than just give it away... wonder how much I'd get if I weighed it in myself...?? oh, and I'm in Watford....just to clarify !

I think shells are making about £40 at the moment, but don't take that as gospel. it changes almost every day.

Take it down, or enquire first, at the Cardiff Road metal recylers. AFAIK they will take without charge, but won't offer you anything.
I used to pay some guy £25 for him to take stripped cars of me and they all went doen there. Should be fine as it has no tyres.

Just got £28 for a 400kg citroen xantia shell this morning. Just look in the yellow pages for metal recyclers thats probably your best bet.
