VW T4 converted van
Mot - Jan '13
Tax - Jul '12
Contact - PM best as I work odd hours
Location - Rainham, Kent
My camper is currently on eBay (so please excuse the copy and paste). Obviuously it's an auction site so it'll go for what it goes for, hence why I've put a bit of an unrealistic price (in my eyes).
Details
Up for sale here is my T4 converted camper. We brought this last year with the intention of getting it ready to use for the shows and climbing trips this season, however a new born baby means there’s no realistic chance of that happening, so I’m offering the bus up for sale.
The van is a 1.9 diesel. It’s not the fastest thing in the world by far, but it’s not let me down in the time I’ve owned it (with the exception of replacing the old battery). Being honest I’ve not done that many miles in it personally (as mentioned I planned to use it more this year), but those that I have done seemed to go by troublefree. Current mileage is approximately 133000 off the top of my head (which most people will tell you is absolutely nothing for these beasts).
It currently has MOT ‘til Jan 2013 (having gone straight through the last one!). It is also taxed ‘til the end of July.
Mechanically I’m not aware of any issues with the van. As stated I’ve not used it that much, but I’ve done 60+ mile trips in it with no issue. Please note I’m no mechanic though so can only go on my experience of the van itself. The suspension seems good, and the chassis is solid.
Bodywise is where the van lets itself down most. The van was previously used by an aerial repair business in central London, so it has it's fair share of dings and paint chips. Whist there is no major rust or rot, there has been various areas of surface rust which the previous owner has not repaired in the most aesthetic way! In all fairness to him he made sure the areas were treated to stop them getting worse though. The van also has a dent in the bonnet (from a Frenchman on a bike apparently!), a dent in the front of the roof near the front, and a scrape down one side (as can be seen in the last body picture). Obviously the van is 15 years old, so the body will have other marks too. My plan was to sort the bodywork after this season and repaint it, but that’s not going to happen now.
Inside the van was a basic shell when I got it. I’ve built my own interior in it to suit my needs, but it’ll do the job for weekend’s away. Obviously it’s not up to spec with a full on custom built interior worth thousands, but it’s better than a dirty mattress chucked on the floor in my opinion. It has plenty of storage, and a fold out bed. I’ll also include an electric coolbox as well.
So there we have it, not much more to say really. Any questions please ask and I’ll do my best to answer. Van is located in Rainham, Kent. Viewing is welcome.
