It's only one plug but they're all the same.. Car is a mk2 golf. Fuel consumption is curse word and there seems to be a miss at idle only when warm. Tried pretty much everything i can think of.. Any thoughts?

Doesn't look like it's been running rich, how long were they in for?

Yup, looks ok to me. Bit sooty from short runs, perhaps, but not overly rich, not oily, not weak, not overheated.
I assume you've done a compression test and checked for fuel leaks?
What sort of figures are you getting, and what sort of miles are you doing? Is it all short journeys?

The plugs are maybe 3 months old.
Compression is good- just done a top end rebuild and checked shortly after. No leaks i can find..
It's a 1.6 carb.. i'm getting 18- 22 mpg mostly town driving (never lazy walking distance trips though) but some longer journeys too....
Maybe that's about normal mpg but it seems awful low to me. Also there is a definite judder at idle that can be felt through the pedals/ steering wheel. Seems like a miss.
Strange its only when car is up to temp though, can't find any vacuum leaks or anything.
Thanks for your help guys.

Carbs are significantly more thirsty than moderns
Long trips should give you much better MPG try measuring it on a 50+ mile trip.
I get 20 ish in the Esprit on short trips and that is fully EFI longer trips it's still sub 25 mpg Porker does 20 ish on short trips but on looong trips it's been up to 38mpg
