With almost no sadness at all (which is most odd for me) I saw the Ventora go off to its new home today. First time out in daylight in a long time Read the body language between buyer and his girlfriend. Haven't we all been there before? LOL Loaded on to the trailer www.cartrans.co.uk taking it home. and now the Buick has taken residence where once the Ventora sat... Oh well, onwards and upwards.

Shame to see it go after all the work you put in but some things aren't meant to be and I can see how frustrated at it you were.

Well if you weren't sad to see it go, then it seems like it was the right choice! The only car not worth having is one that doesn't make you smile.

Oh. Well I suppose if it ddn't hurt to let go then it was the best decision. What else is on the 'cull list'? And when is that 5th Ave pitching up at yours?

I've been inventorying my attic. I have more spare parts for old Vauxhalls than anyone needs in their life so a big sell off of them is called for. Some really really rare stuff. But some of it is so oddball theres probably no cars left of that spec for people to want it! EG new old stock, boxed ash tray, door mount type for FD Victor 1599cc model only, pre facelift with Morroco Beige interior and bench seats. Doesn't fit any other spec. That interior was only offered for 2 model years. Worth the earth if someone out there has a car that colourway and a missing ashtray... Worth nothing at all otherwise.
I have another FD Victor I'm probably going to sell. maybe.
Picking up the 5A tomorrow.

I was gridlocked. No money to finish the Ventora, lost enthusiasm, Buick and Oldsmobile both T&T but neither in a suitable condition for winter driving. Needed to get something sorted. Ventora had to go really. I'm amazed I'm not feeling it. I had that car about 15 years.

If you're not feeling it it, it was obv the right thing to do. Fair play to ya for biting the bullet and getting shut of it.
Can't beleive you're replacing it with that line-dancers car off the bay though!

its gonna be a struggle to get used to threads like "5th avenue progress" rather than "ventora painting issues" would have been great to see you finish it, in that colour too, its gonna be stunning. but if your not really missing it, it was the right thing to do lets hope the new owner treats it to the finish it deserves

I half wish I'd known it was available.

I reckon the new owner should be on here with us! How about getting him here and posting it's progress in "readers rides".
