Iv been wanting this car for awhile now. Its been sitting in my dads yard. He was going to use it for the Barcelona or bust rally but dosent have the time. Soo he said I can have it as a project for myself! Now my plans for it are to lower it and wheels, thats it! Needs a little welding in the arches for M.O.T so hopefully going to get it low be RTTS. Now heres my question. I want to lower it on coilovers but theres none for the car. Now, I'v heard corsa coilovers have been fitted to micras and such, so how easy are they to work with?? Anyway, heres how it looks, and how i want it to look.

That photoshop looks awesome!! Maybe put some pics up of the suspension setup now so people can see if there is anything similar around.

seeing as they race them, I would have thought that there are ones off the shelf (but at a price). from a quick google it looks like GAZ do/did them and protec would def make you a set up to your spec. But I am guessing you want to do it on the cheap? I would have thought that corsa ones would be too soft due to the weight but looking at the pic's of them Fronts rear they look similar to mk2 golf ones

^^^ on the money there Craig!
aparently, golf bits were used for 'prototyping' the Maestro!
A set of eaby cheapies at around the one-fifty mark could be the way to go, or just get some sleeves and springs from Rallydesign.

I can confirm they are very mk2 like. You can pick up a set of second hand mk2 coilies for as little as 70-80quid nowadays!
ps. mk3 golf coilovers are the same in case you stumble upon any going cheap

Nice plan! MX5 alloys?
I suggest you lose the red stripe on the bumpers and paint them beige, use same colour for the door handles.

Mk2/3 Golf coilovers fit, fronts need the strut-to-hub bolt holes elongating, and the rears need the bottom bush bolt tube drilling out larger, job done.
