Wow, excellent models so far! I love stuff like this I have loads of old matchbox and dinky stuff I should get some pics of, but until then, here's my R/C 1/10 scale Calibra: not really retro, but still, I like it! ;D Basically it's a Tamiya Grasshopper 2 fitted with a Parma DTM Calibra shell with lowered Kyosho RS200 oil filled dampers all round, various chassis mods for bespoke dampers and body shell mounts. It's got home made rear axle control 'poly' bushes (R/C fuel line off cutts!) and also has Kyosho petrol car wheels fitted. Not too exciting I know, but it's got an RS540 motor to replace the woeful 380 that the kit came with. Future plans for it include a more powerful motor (isn't that something we all like to have for our cars?!) and a home-spun LSD! ;D Oh yeah, it needs a fair bit of tidying at the minute aswell, 'crack' said the paint as it flaked off!

Sad but I don't have any left from when I wore shorts all the time.
I started collecting models of Mercedes back in 1992 and have topped the 300 mark. They range from v. cheap to a few of those £100+ ones from Franklin Mint. I especially like the several Merc. fire engines.
There are also about 40? Ebbro models of Datsuns and Nissans and a whole load of Kyoshos and others thrown in. Countless Tomica 1/64 Datsuns too.
I don't have many photos as most of them are packed away waiting for that 'study' wall cabinet.
Contrary to my own youth, I'm trying to train my 7 year old boy in the way of collecting and preserving. He has loads of cars he can play with but he also has a 'special' shelf and his own packing box of MIBs.

ive got to get back to my parents to go through the cars I had as a kid that are now in the loft. I had hundreds of them, and they used to take them everywhere to keep me quiet. For some reason I just used to make car parks with them tho ;D I also remember the 'crash ups(?)' hot wheels, where you had the panel that was pristine on one side and dented on the other, and it would flip from one to the other when another car hit it. they were great!! most of my models are still packed since we moved, but ive I few around me in the office my LSR collection My In Tray ;D and my filing cabinet oh, and ive collected and had framed and put up the bluebird picture i got from the guy who took the pics of campbell back in '67!

it doesn't matter if it's a Morris Marina or a Toyota Celica - it's what you do with it that counts

Yea, I remember them. While I was living at my partners mom's house, I was helping her mom move some boxes and she opened one and had the full set in there plus a stack of other models! See compleatly forgot she had them. She hid them there so her kids couldnt play with them.
