So I thought I'd bung up a few pics of my other straight 6...This one's a lot newer than the Dato and gets me about on a more daily basis...
Bought it about 3 years ago now and I can honestly say it's the most reliable thing I've ever known...Had a bad experience with a Jag before this (the brain went....I knew how it felt, mine went immediately afterwards) so vowed to NEVER get a car with any fancy-pants computer trickery in them ever again...Spent a bit of time having a big old think about where to go, panicked a bit as my first child was born then payed a lot for this by buying it through a specialist dealer....10 months later the dropped out of the 190 market...ah well...
Still, it proved to be as minty as I thought and as it's a Sportline with all the options it's lower, nicer wheels and a bit more fun to drive due to chassis differences to the standard car. It also has 4 seats instead of 5...a bit like a Volvo 480.....but earlier. And less Swedish. And stuff.
Often get offers for it, my favorite being in a service station car park at 2 a.m. by a giant HGV driver in a singlet.. "Don't eat me!" I whispered to myself 20 miles later down the road.
Oh my MOT guy always tried to by it as well..
Anywho, enough of my yacking...let's boogie..
Only thing is I'm 6'3" and it's perfect but the seat has to go all the way back and my second child is cooking......so might have to flog it later in the year
Only thing that would replace it would be a similar year W126 SE or SEL
It's pretty quick as well.....so much so that I chucked it into a hedge the other month (at low speed mind..) when I hit a patch of mud and ran out of talent.....the damage? A tiny scratch that buffed out..got to love old school Mercs...
