Right then, as my google foo is weak, do any of you knowledgeable chaps on here know much about A4LDe transmissions? I'm looking for a way of getting the auto in my mk2 Granada to lock in 3rd gear, purely for the purposes of mapping the EMS. 2nd gear is easy enough, but doesn't allow a smooth enough operating speed on the rollers for the mapping man any help would be much appreciated

stretching the memory here, but i seem to remember these old box,s if the kickdown cable was not connected or wrongly(to slack) adjusted they went almost inmmediately to 3 gear? or at least by 30mph they were there! so maybe try undoing the kickdown cable? course i could be totally wrong! as I'm thinkng of me old Zodiac mk1111 executive which had this problem till i sussed it!!

tried the kick down solenoid disconnected, but it just kicks down to 2nd at low rpm and loaded up also, its an earlier leccy box with just 4th and torque convertor lockup ecu controlled. so no snow button tricks for me ;D
