So basically had this problem with my 1994 Mazda 323f for a while now. It is booked in to be fixed on Tuesday so either way the problem will be solved but as I am selling the car, I'd rather not spend any more money on it unless I have to.
The cooling fan is not cutting in. I have replaced the fan switch/temp sensor, the temperature transmitter and the thermostat with no joy. Also, for some reason, the temperature gauge reads hot even when the engine is relatively cold or at optimum temp. There is no way to really tell if the engine is over heating but I did drive it with the fan bypassed for a month with no issues whatsoever.
The fan only works when the wire from the fan switch is earthed.
Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks
