Not got any pics yet, but I'm starting to modify my MK III golf. It's an early model, 1994 infact, and the driver, so I've got nice seats etc. I'm going for black bumpers and side trim, no arch sprats and a very euro look. At present I have some fully polished BCW (nice german and rare) wheels 14 spokes with a 5" dish!!! 15x8j rears on 205/50 Nankangs (ET18!) 15x7j front on 195/50 Barum directionals (ET28) and they look awsome. Good thing about modern cars is you can get the bits for em really easily, from most breakers and from specialist automotive stores. Stage 2 will be a set of SuperSport coilovers, then tidying of bodywork, before the grande finale, a G60 conversion with G60 brakes et al Kinda like the whole german/euro style but on a modern bit of kit. Will upload pics as soon as.

I was thinking about this, as my current car isn't particularly retro (mk3 golf ) ,.. was thinking about tinkering with it,.. problem is I want to respray it the kind of creamy colour you can get on New Beetle Cabs, which is going to cost a small fortune, and if I'm spending a small fortune I might as well buy another car,.. Maybe I'll get photoshopping this afternoon.

My Golf is steel blue, (very light metallic, LB5T) not very retro, but it looks great with the wheels. Sometimes you can do it all with wheels and stance (style wise). I mean why complicate things? Just fitted the GTi Rear box yesterday, sounds more interesting now , and the air box should get drilled today, which should liven up mid range a little. (if not just sound great)

Here is my (so far) rather pathetic effort to do something interesting to a Mk3 golf the same colour and trim as mine, (although mine is 4 door),.. Lowered (obviously), resprayed trim, delocked, moved the petrol filler inside, and removed the side indicator (possibly illegal?) ,.. It's hard to do anything cheaply with these things, without going crazy and two toning the whole thing. Hmm challenging,.. I need some alloys for it too. Of course this is all very obvious,... which brings me back to Golf Mk3 country,.. hehe what does it take to jack one of these things up a bit??

Don't know how useful these will be, but some ideas maybe? The wood looks awful (IMO), stuck on wood effect never looks good, but I never liked that station wagen on father dowling.
