Hi all, first time I've posted my Eunos on here. It's been a labour of love for the last three years. Was pretty much standard when I bought it, pretty unstandard now! Sticking to the engine, it's got an Eaton M45 'charger with home brew induction plumbing, Megasquirt ECU and Supra injectors. I recently took it to John Sleath Racing Cars to have it set up properly and get the current scores-on-the-doors from a dyno. John really knows his onions, being widely respected in the drag racing world. He has also sorted many a road car. It looked promising when I reversed into his barn to find four mean looking drag cars lying about and a monster turboed V8 on the engine dyno ;D First some pics (tricky as it was flippin dark in the barn): Engine dyno through the door Cheeky RR sticker appearance Retro drag racer The best video I managed, it was hard to know when a power run was coming up! John worked on the car a total of 2.5 hours. First test run gave 146 bhp which was lower than expected (standard is 131 bhp). After a bit of fiddling he got it up to 173 bhp and 142 lb.ft which I'm happy with as my setup is low boost with no intercooler. Boost is only 4 psi. I love my figures so here's some charts; I got the car dynoed when totally standard a while back. I've included some data from my old Clio 182 because I was amazed at how similar the stats are now, apart from the lack of the '5k kick' 182s are famous for. Hope to bring it to a RR meet up soon...

Hmmm, you've made it sound worryingly simple... Worrying in that I now want to do it to mine... Are you still running standard internals? Fuel pump? Your setup sounds ideal to me, I certainly wouldn't want 200bhp in a road based mx5.

Ha! Dead simple sounding... only issues along the way have been shoddy build quality of a couple of mounting parts that I've had to adapt myself.
Standard internals (engine was designed to be turboed after all). Standard fuel pump.
Yep, power will do me for now. I'd more likely be intercooling etc for the challenge more than anything else. Don't want any visible sign of IC though - it's a good Q-car at the minute.

Is it dumping a lot of fuel in to hold off det at the moment then? Or is that not really a problem at 4psi? I should say by the way, well done! It looks like a cracking car.

Thanks mate.
John said there wasn't much of an issue with knock, boost as it is. I'm a bit green to this mapping malarky so not sure how much he turned the wick up.

Very nice, pretty much what I have/had planned for mine! Bought a used M45 ages ago, stripped it ready for rebuild, fabbed the brackets, tensioner & inlet..........and it's sat in my bench at work since!! Haven't used the Eunos since last summer so need to get it ready for MOT this weekend and get on with it!! Thanks for the inspiration, lol! Thanks, no problem!
Yours looks in fine fettle. Love the seats. Standard runners? Do they raise the bum height a bit?
Get the blower on there!

Cheers dude!
No, they actually lower you a bit which is why I wanted them. They are on the standard runners, with some steel strips across them to pickup on the base mount points for the seats. Basically as low as you can get bottom mounts without cutting out the 'humps' from the floor.
I had S1 Elise seats in there for a bit, but they are pretty uncomfortable, probably lower still as they were so thin!
Originally the car had a Cusco rollbar in which was too close your head (and I'm a shorty!) for my liking so I fitted lower seats and changed to the TR Lane HD bar which mounts frther back. I asked for a double diagnonal V at the back which he did for me as a one off at the time, but now sells them like that I believe. Good bar for the money.
She's coming out of hibernation this weekend!

Nice one. Might put those seats on the wish list. Which Sparcos are they please?
I've got a Hard Dog Deuce bar. TR Lane supplied the mounting brackets that needed modifying! Hear good things about their bars though.
Mine's in a 'show' on Sunday. Fingers crossed for the weather for both of us!

They're connected! Original rad exploded, coating engine bay in sticky goo, resulting in thorough clean up.
New rad is a bit tasty and two core so pretty effective.

Ha this is crazy. It's been 11 years since I posted but this thread is still here! Superb. I still have the car too. Now looks like this. I haven't changed any of the mechanicals in a long while because it goes so well as it is.
