Hi guys, Quick question. I have a car I want to MOT, the only thing I can see it failing on is a 2p sized hole under the windscreen/rubber on the scuttle panel. Is this a fail though? It isn't a bonded screen, so shouldn't be classed as structural would it? Thanks chaps

Should be fine, ive MOT'd many 2CV's and Dyanes over the years with bigger holes than that in the scuttle area

A 2cv is a separate chassis tho.
No idea in the OP's question, sorry. But I'm sure someone will be along soon with the answer.

good point, i didnt think of that. possibly best to ignore my last bit of advice Although with luck its treated the same as rusty arches, OK to pass as long as its not likely to tear open a pedestrian (although he would be bouncing off the screen by the time he got attacked by a rusted scuttle)

Can't see that being anywhere near a prescribed area. Certainlly not within 30cm.
Prescribed areas include. Body mounts (if seperate chassis) Suspension mounts, Subframe mounts, steering system mounts and Seat belt mounting points. Also any corrosion likely to affect the steering or braking of the vehicle constitutes a fail. Then there is also the sharp edges rule. I cant really see anything on the scuttle being within those areas.
I'm not a tester but that is my understanding of the testers manual which is published on VOSAs website.

if it is a mini, then it could be within 30cm of the top subframe mount. But I think it should be fine with a bit of tape over any sharp edges.
