Ok finally got my vanette through it's ticket and after a fair but not excessive bit of welding I quite like the old bus but the dreadfully slow but stupidly reliable 2.3 diesel simply doesn't cut it.
Now,the plan I hatched originally was sr20det but realistically time and money plus fabricating work etc make this a pipe dream so I fancy shoving the 2.0l sr20de out of a serena in it as it's basically an identical layout etc.
Obviously this should be all bolt up stuff,there maybe nats issues but if I get the whole kit and caboodle that should be fine.
My question is can you use the original tank/lines etc rather than changing it all?obviously flushed through first but this would save sometime I'm sure.
Tuning the sr20?id imagine it's got a fair few bits available but I read that their 140-165 bhp out of the box so that should be good enough.
Economy? Wouldn't want it to be too silly but the diesels not mint anyway.
Apparently this motor turns up in a lot of nissans so I'm wondering if there's any differences between front and rear drive general set ups,you know belts running in the wrong direction etc.
The vehicles are pips to work on and I have access to a pit etc up here in scotchland and probably a long weekend and evenings to sort it.
