Model: Jaguar S-Type 3.0 V6 Automatic
Year: 1999
Mileage: 101,420
Tax: Nope
MOT: Nope
Location: Martin, Lincolnshire (LN4 3QY)
Price: £500
Contact details: Nathan - 07843 488492
Back up for sale is 'Slammed 66''s old S-Type.
Before anyone makes any comments about me advertising it for more than I paid, I've also paid £54 for an MOT test so I'm advertising it for £4 less than it owes me. With this in mind, I won't take offers on it. If it's not gone for £500 or swap for another vehicle inside a week, it'll be stripped, sold in bits and the shell weighed in.
I've had it MOT'd and decided I can't be bothered to do the work required so I thought I'd advertise it again as a whole to give it a last chance away from the crusher before I sell it in bits!
Let's start with the bad bits, then if you're still interested, you can read on.
MOT failure points - lots of brake pipes, a wheel bearing, a steering rach gaitor & a track rod end. See photo of fail sheet
No Tax
The ash tray lid in the front doesn't stay shut
The ash tray in the nsr door is missing
A few age related body scars (but no rust)
Wheels could use a refurb (but the tyres are good)
A coil pack wants replacing due to it intermittently going onto 5 cylinders (£17 off ebay).
3rd and 4th gear in the J Gate won't engage. In drive, it quite happily goes up and down all 5 gears and kicks down immediately. It's just the towing gears it doesn't like. I am lead to believe this is just a pressure switch on or in the gearbox (quoted £100 for an auto specialist to fix)
CD changer magazine is missing
Good Bits:
Only 101,420 miles
Remote central locking / dead locking / alarm / immobiliser
Original Jaguar head unit with working CD changer and fully functional Sat Nav (rare for this to work!)
Electric windows / sunroof / mirrors / seats / steering wheel
Black leather interior
Drivers seat and steering wheel are auto adjusting when you get into the car
Onboard computer
Working traction control & ABS
Dual zone automatic climate control with air con
Working cruise control (such a fun toy!)
Built in hands free with steering wheel controls (dock appears to be for a motorola phone)
Automatic headlights
Alloy wheels are a rare and expensive option. They are 18" BBS Genuine 2 piece split rims as found on the S-Type R model
It is like any other Jag to drive; an absolute pleasure. It's just that my pet hate is making brake pipes and this thing needs 35 feet of them for MOT!
SO it's genuinely not a hard fix, just time consuming.
Absolutely everything wrong with the car has been described here; I have nothing to hide.
Collection only from my house (Post Code LN4 3QY) as it has no tax or test (although it is insured).
Any questions, please ask.
