Earlier in the week I rang up Footman James for a quote on a van that I was think of buying. They gave me a quote that made it worth my while driving from Kent to Devon to purchase it. This morning I rang them up to confirm the quote and to take them up on it. They first of all couldn't find a record of the quote and then refused to honour the quote when I told them what had been quoted. In all, I spent about an hour on the phone getting the original quote, trying to accept it and complaining. All I got in return was a sorry.
It was lucky we got delayed leaving, otherwise we would have been half way to Devon before finding out that we would be uninsured. The Mondeo is sitting on the drive with £77 worth of fuel, which we bought ready for the journey.
