did anyone else see "The Liver run" spwecial of Police Camera Action last night ?
Stansted to Kensington & Chelsea Hospital in 30 minutes in V8 Rover. Transporting a Liver that had flown from Hull to Stansted & then had to be at the hospital operating theatre by 12.30pm
Brilliant stuff - with a surprising amount of retro cool on the roads for April 1994.

Did not see it but watched far too many of these recently. Why do Police have a relationship with dopey offenders. a bloke in a micra with bald tyres no anything legal and admission to heroin got let off lightly and spotted the next day, and a dopey biker who was arguing the toss that he was safe going fast on his machine with his daughter on board! maybe its the cameras

it doesn't matter if it's a Morris Marina or a Toyota Celica - it's what you do with it that counts

****! ****! ****! I missed it I remember seeing that video years ago and have been wanting to get a copy ever since. As you say it is an amazing piece of driving. Does anybody know if there is a "watch again" version of it?

thats what p1sses me off too.
if i went out with bald tyres id be nicked and in court ASAP, but if I'm a smackhead with no licence, insurance and needles sticking out of my pockets and would get a friendly conversation about driving with bald tyres and a community cop-out order
crush these deathtraps and slap the drivers daft, then, send them to prison to share a cell with a beardy called Mavis who wears lipstick and has scuffed knees
when they kill someone with their bad driving in a scrap car - the police who let them drive on should be arrested for manslaughter
rant over - blood pressure returning to normal

There was one on about a week ago, this bloke had no licence, no provisional, was driving a car round with no tax, insurance, mot and it was a deathtrap. The police had a quiet word with him, and let him drive off!!! FFS!!!
Then on the other hand, my brothers mate acidently wheel spun his Escort in Sutton Coldfield town centre while it was pissin down with rain, and he got a 1 month ban from the area!!!

That I have seen ..twice and still cannot believe what the twit is saying (e.g. "...that he would have no trouble stopping from 130mph if someone pulled out in front of him" etc ...that he DID say!!!) !

I could pull 100mph down to zero in 3.8 seconds on mine ;D 2x 320mm AP racing cast iron discs and 2x 6 pot calipers haul up 185kg pretty rapidly ;D Unless you have ridden modern bikes you have no comprehension of how capable they are in relation to cars A bog standard commuter special GS500 out accellerated, out braked and kept up with a 350hp WRX scooby through the twistys ina test done by Performance bikes The GSXR600 whipped it at everything and the GSXR1000 just disappeared ;D It out accelerated it on the back wheel, and out braked it pulling a stoppie ;D Modren bikes are stupidly capable means of transport.... ZX10 will pull 105mph in 1st gear ;D with 5 more to go ;D

Its the fact the biker was discussing it with the cop, and cop didnt turn around and say well heres your ban/fine whatever. and he did look a bit dopey!
Education for safety etc is nessesary these days, i'd welcome that more than punishment, wouldnt be sure it works on all drivers.
I'd probably be pretty shameful and gutted about being stopped, and try be helpful - in the shock i'd maybe make some excuses though!!! ;D

Its just a shame the riders arnt as capable as the bikes, racing bike, not racing driver! J ROAD bike, not Race bikes But I agree, the bikes are always more capable than the riders..... but in most cases thats the same with cars as well Lets face it...... £200 on some performance enhancing product or £200 on Advanced training or Tuition We all know which one is more beneficial and results in faster times or smoother/faster driving/riding......... But that doesnt look as good at the show or score as many "pub" points does it On a bike you do tend to improve your riding....... it can get a bit terminal iif you don't ..... in a car you can survive with terrible technique and no road sense for years How many people here have actually done anything at all tuition wise since passing their Driving tests.......

My dad recons his driving has improved massively since he's been riding bikes aswell. On a bike - you don't look boths ways, car doesn't see you, you die. It teaches you to be a lot more aware of whats around you and a lot more thorough with your looking.

problem is that a hell of alot of bikers think they are alot better at riding than they actaully are what was it at last count for essex alone this year 38 killed or there abouts on a bike you may be able to zip round a car at a high rate of speed but it only takes a biker to startle a car driver and then the car driver ends up pulling accross the bikers path as they are passing . i always look out for bike you have to in essex due to there being so many of them but even i have almost been ran into on many an occasion by one . and the first thing they do is blame the car driver . sorry but if your changing lane in traffic and a bike is filtering at 50mph down the middle of the traffic it ain't the car drivers fault when he spats himself down the side of ya car . i pretty sure most of the bike riders on here are a little more thoughfull towards cars drivers though
