I saw this pic over on autoshite.com , it really looks like a car we had fun with at work, it had no rear shocks + with careful throttle + brake action you could get a foot of air at the back, it was around the mid 90's. Also, I have registered over there but have not had my account activated and my emails to admin@autoshite.com are being bounced back. Anyone here in contact with the site staff there?

I think that might be a late Mitsubishi Debonair.

^ Russian (part of volga/GAZ range) ? South American (part of their 'Ford' or 'Renault' home market products) ? Also remember a late 80's Mitsubushi used to have the rear wheel arches 'half covered' so to speak like that ... ...curious

I'm pretty sure its a toyota, is it a CROWN , laurel? Its the location I'm interested in as it looks like the yard wher I used to work, if I'm right thats a ford D series 7.5 tonner in the back ground.
Ah , if its a mitsubishi then its not the same one then.

Didn't realise Japanese cars still used/fitted 'fender mirrors' in the early 90'S

It is DEFFO a Mitsi Debonair, lovely air suspension and super J-pimp luxury.
IIRC this one was a late 80's one, and sold on eGay for about £150.
Doubtless it is dead now, but then where the fugg would you go to get spares for one?

That's a fairly bizarre piece of kit, never ever seen one before. It does bear striking resemblance to a Toyota Vista/Camry but there's no questioning it being a Debonaire.

Yeah , i thought it was a toyota or nissan that we had come thru Belmont Car Actions in Charlton in the mid 90's, it had virtually nothing on the footbrake, snapped hand brake cable and no rear shocks whatsoever, it was auto and could be made to jump a good foot off the floor at the back , it also jumped badly on bumps , it was so dangerous we couldnt drive it in the yard coz it took so long to stop, it didnt sell and a man came to collect it and drove it straight out of the yard onto the main road and was last seen doing about 40mph towards the woolwich ferry, it would have taken 400 yrds to stop at that speed!!

I think thats even one of the pics off eBay, although it doesn't have the ebay watermark in the corner. I seem to remember it had electric everything - blinds, fridge, telly, cooker, bath/shower unit and so on.

The way the car is being talked about it couldn't have been that old (say under 8 year old) at the time yet it appeared to have a lot of faults
