	Iv brought a set of Audi wheels for my golf which I will need adapters for golf 5x100 and wheels 5x112 My problem is I brought 3 wheels cheap with the intention of picking up a 4th easily off eBay job done! Herea my problem te 4th wheel ha come today and it has a different orate to the other 3 I have 3 wheels with 8j 18" et35 I have 1 wheel with 8j 18" et45 Can I just get a 10mm spacer for the 3 others to make them et45 or is it the othe way round and I need 1 10mm for the et45? Any help would be great

	its the other way around. a 10mil spacer on the et45 one will make it et35. spacers reduce offset. is the only difference back spacing? usually theres a slight difference in dish / spoke shape, if theres a different offset. it wouldnt cause a problem, just it'd get on my nerves.

Not normally - most manufacturers cast the wheels with an excess of metal around the hub mounting area which they can then machine off to different PCD's to suit different manufacturers or different models. Rather than casting a whole new wheel for each offset, a few seconds machining off the backspacing is all is needed to change the backspacing. Then the centrebore and PCD are machined around the same time. Obviously some manufacturers do make different castings for deeper dish/stagerred fitments, but generally most variances of offest within the same width wheel are done on the amount of mounting surface remove/left...not a different casting all together.
