Say this in a local scrap yard and thought someone on here may want bits off it, seemed to be quite a lot still there when I was there. It's in Silverlake in Botley. Shame it was scrapped, I don't think I've ever seen one on the road. I can't remember what it is though, some sort of Riley? Also saw this beauty, not sure I've ever seen one of these on the road either:D.

Probably scrapped due to extreme underbody rot, around the rear subframe and suspension areas. Also the sills were complicated on these cars, prone to rust and lots of work to repair properly. 11/1300s can look sound on top - like this one does - but can be totally gone underneath. It's a shame as they are great to drive - even on Camac crossplys!

Great site, great pictures Round my part of the world NO scrap yard will stack cars nor will you evAr see cars that old in them! In fact the age of car they have in the scrapyards round my part of the country is newer than what I run AND I cannot see what is wrong with some of the really clean 'n' tidy stuff that goes in!?

not necessarily. My Mazda is a "modrn" by my standards and it has been welded a couple of times underneath already, looks mint on the top. Apparently a lot of Japanese and Korean cars have very little/poor rust proofing and still rot out underneath. I was shocked how brown the Toyota was underneath when I took it for its last MOT. Steel still rusts.

Most of the stuff they have is modern rubbish, just a few interesting cars mixed in. I heard there's a really old school yard around here somewhere, very few cars under 10 years old. I'll have to see if I can hunt it down. If anyone does need bits off either of them they do remove parts and deliver if you need them to.

Yes I remember you saying about this and since from talking to a few people in J-Tin car clubs it seems to be the norm with regards to 80's and early 90's J cars ...still nice 'on top' but 'iffy down below'; a real 'killer' seems to be the rear shock absorber/turret mounts.
