Whilst leafing through the "Daily Express guide to 1982 World Cars" I discovered this beauty: Does anyone know any more about them? Anyone ever seen one? Anyone got any more pics? The electronically controlled aerofoil sounds fascinating!

Anyone else think the nose looks like a "boso" nose?

Looks pretty neat! Nose looks kinda hybrid X1/9 and 280Z to me! Think a two door one would work better tho

They only made about 40 Ritz models, as Rapport went bust. Alongside the Ritz, Rapport also made the Forte, based on the XJ12. Which looks (IMO) rather cool. Clicky woo ... www.austin-rover.co.uk/index.htm?rappindexf.htmJust check out the headlamp arrangement, used on the Ritz too I believe. ;D

WOW! I'd never heard of the company before...learn something new every day on here! The Metro convertible looks fun too. Does anyone know if any of these 3 models exists today?

I knew about the other Rapport models but the Ritz was a new one on me... I love obscure stuff like this, it fascinates me ;D

Me too. I have heard of one before and 'kept an eye open for one' all my motoring life but have never even had a sniff. Never seen one, either in the flesh, for sale, on a website/forum, anything. I'd fuggin LOVE one!

The Ritz is featured in a book that was printed last year, and the only pics were of the same one and were poor quality shots taken when the car was new. I`m sure the book said there were even less than 40 made, that along with them not being able to find better pics lead me to believe that none of them are still around. You might have to make your own Mr Bo11ox, that advert pretty much tells you what you`ll need to do.

13 grand was serious money in 1982, you could have bought something a lot nicer than that horror. No wonder they went bust!
Didn't Avon or Tickford do something a lot more dignified with the Acclaim - turbo, wheels and possibly leather?
Also there was the Panther Rio, a Dolomite based car with a Silver Spirit type front and nice leather interior. Still about three times the price of a Sprint though.
The Accord thing is horrible, but the Jag based cabriolet is much better and looks good - was it the inspiration for the wedge TVRs or just a coincidence?

Now, I wonder if I have got anything on that in the teetering pile of cut-out articles on Honda? Never yet fully sorted that one in the nine years it's been building up, DarrenW you might have forced me to do it!

I'd love to know if any actually made it out the factory gates and into owners' hands.

I reckon at least one did, the poor quality pics I saw featured one out and about with what looked to be its comically coiffed owner.
