Hey everyone,
I'm selling Trev my BMW E28 525E Auto.
MOT until 15th December
Just taxed for 6 months
£2200 with the 18" Schnitzer split rims
£1500 without the split rims and i will find some replacement BMW wheels
This was my grandads since nearly new, when he died a few years ago I bought it. He looked after it with no expense spared, always serviced and cared for with genuine BMW parts. It was always garaged, and during my grandads last years it was just sat in his garage but he still kept it taxed and MOT'd! He used to drive it round like royalty waving at people! I bought a new battery, fitted it and it started straight up! I drove it all the way home from Reading to West Yorkshire with no problems ...as soon as i got it home, the first thing I did was ship in some custom coilovers from California in USA, I still don't know if he would have approved!
Last year i did a drive round Germany and a week at the Nurburgring. This really is cheap motoring, insurance is just £179 a year with Europe cover and Europe breakdown.
nurburgring, before respray
Heres some photos, I'm not very good with a camera and its chucking it down outside ill get some better photos in the garage later on as soon as it stops raining!!
SPEC:
2.7 ETA engine
18" AC Schnitzer Type II Genuine split rims with almost new tyres
Toad C3 alarm with remote central locking and original keys. Has all the extras like interior light remains on, extra outputs etc. Delocked front doors. (locks included if you want them)
Full coilover suspension, height and preload adjustable (cost over £800)
Shorter drop links
Pressed plates (originals included)
Tinted red rear indicator lenses.
Recent respray in bright silver.
BAD BITS:
Small chip in windscreen (not MOT fail, has been filled by autoglass)
Door shuts are a slightly darker silver
Rear bumper has dent from the rear, only subtle and not worth replacing (see photos)
HISTORY:
Other jobs i did after i acquired it after my Grandad:
Gearbox reconditioned with new clutch packs
Cut out and welded front floor pan jacking points, all traces of rust removed. I have photos of all the work i did.
All new control arms.
Full stainless steel exhaust custom built to original spec and bore size, including downpipes, with a twin exit. Slightly sportier sound.
New boot seal
M535i rear spoiler
All brake lines replaced front to back
+ all the usual servicing jobs
Please note, I realise the wheels and suspension height are not to everyone's taste, and i am willing to sell the car without the 18" Schnitzers. I paid alot of money for them and hunted round for a long time for these in 18". I'm willing to change the wheels to sell the E28 cheaper. If the buyer would preffer i could raise up the suspension ready for you, here's how it looked with the rear raised up before respray which some people preffer:
before respray, raised
before respray, raised
before respray
it also looks cool on BMW throwing stars!
My reason for sale (which i have a feeling I'm going to regret!) is i also have a 1868 Mini with Vtec engine which is almost ready for the road again. I need some extra cash to finish it off and i've just had some new split rims custom made for it, i'm going to be transferring my insurance over to the mini and hopefully using that daily.
I am considering putting on some BBS wheels and raising it up to help the sale, if it doesn't sell on here ill put it on eBay but i was hoping to find another enthusiast on here first. Any questions, need any more photos or anything else at all please get in touch or leave a message, this is a good reliable E28 and has never let me down.
