its 05 astra disel,went pick engine up for my cortina,notice fumes under car,went to look and filler cap was missing sure put on,anyway managed get one off scrapyard drove home 133 miles going alright doesent overheat just fumes from filler cap.like condensation,bit oil comeing through to,ordered new cap.one got from scrap yard came off petrol look identical,fitted perfect,any ideas anyone  |

Are you saying it's fuming even with a cap on?
If so how much? First thing to check is that the various breathers are clear. Quite a few modern diesels have cunning devices to generate suction from incoming airflow - but these can get gunked up and stop working.
Probably nothing more serious.

as above make sure breathers are clear ,
also you will get some fumes coming out the cap hole when you take the cap off as the engine breaths , as long as it isnt excesive ,
if you fit cap , top up fluids and it seems ok then don't worry,.
