Subaru Justy 1.3 8v SOHC
Rice rocket red, Paper light power steering, carlos fernando electric wing mirrors, Sony CD player, 4 good non matching premium tyres, 4wd, clean bodywork no rust or rot, MOT & TAX'd, under 80k mileage, non sunroof model (ideal for rallying?)
I bought this as a non runner few months ago, I drove it around for a little while after diagnosing the problem down to dodgy spark plugs. Was a very good runner whilst it lasted and proved reliable in the winter and snow.
Was driving the car one day and it had a serious loss of power and there was alot of water coming out of the exhaust. At which point I changed the headgasket set, O.E headbolts, skimmed and pressure tested head. You would imagine that after all this it would be ok but no! So I then changed the throttle body as well as we thought that was on the way out. We also found the cat had blocked the exhaust system so we cleared that all up as well.
The car starts, runs and drives but is blowing alot of smoke once it warms up. I checked the spark plugs and cylinder two was pretty oily. Compression is good, so maybe cracked piston rings?
I was contemplating a gti conversion, but I don't have the time and patience for this car no more. The car has had loads of parts replaced by previous owner water pump, radiator, timing belt etc and was well looked after. There is loads of history, paperwork and previous MOT's to prove genuine low miles under 80k
I can get £200 scrap for this car, but I rather sell it to someone who will keep this rare car on the road. Loads of potential for tuning as most people here will know already, or easy fix the choice is yours grab a bargain!!
any questions, please feel free to ask.
