Normally, I don't need an excuse to hit up the junkyards, but recently a friend of mine asked me to find him some front fender wells for the Impala SS he's restoring. I didn't really expect to find any kind of post-'91 B-Body in the yard (and I didn't at the two I went to), but it was an excuse to see what interesting stuff was there.
Here's some from the Parts Galore on Warren-
Coca-Cola Bottling across the street
Looking into the yard, it goes on for about a 1/4 mile
This is the first place I hit up usually
1989 Pignose Dorifto (240SX) with questionable graphics treatment
1990 Corolla GT-S
Is it weird that I imagine this stanced on banded 13" steelies? '84 Toyota Camry
Nothing too much going on in this section, so we move on to....
There are a number of these still on the road up here- Fiat 124 Spyder
This was a suprising thing to find- a '72 450SL
'73 Mustang- made me think of Saxondale
'80 Datsun B210, never seen one on the road in this part of the country
Pretty sure its safe at this speed- '60 Corvair
'76 Mustang II, nothing much to say about it other than my mom once flew through the windscreen of one of these. Don't worry, she's okay.
'72 240Z, had all 4 of those stylin' wheels, the other 3 were loose in the back
I know a guy that had one and loved it(a pretty iconoclastic position in Malaise Era Detroit), although he credits it with ruining his first marriage- '72 Barvaria
I used to think these were ugly......I think I still do- '80 Celica ST
Getting rare-'84 Rabbit GTI
Couldn't tell if it was a SS or not- '68 Impala
Whose idea was it to have a brown sports car- '79 TR7
There's one in every yard- '75 MGB
I almost mistook this E12 for a E28, those bumpers are a travesty -'77 530i
Bright yellow is the color of SAFETY- '80 Volvo 244
I'm going to own one of these someday- '66 Volvo 122S
By the time they made it better, it didn't matter- '66 Corvair
A 2WD minitruck with a push bar....I like it- Datsun 620
Two for one- Alfa Romeo Spider and 280SX
I always get so hopeful when I see an E21 in the yard, though they never seem to have what I want; seats- '82 320i
The archetypical Malaise Era ride- '80 Ford Pinto
Time to hit up the eastside location. I spot this on eastbound 8 Mile-
curse word, another long walk
Nothing special, I just like Volvos- '84 244
Love the car loathe the color- '80 Scirocco
How sweet is this- '84 Jetta GLI
A turbo? Sadly, no -'93 Volvo 940
A weird rare one- has the 4AG, lacks trick GTS suspension- '88 FX16
Swiping the driveshaft for a Getrag swap- '87 Volvo 245
May grab the seats from this one- '84 Volvo 244
Already grabbed the steelies off this guy- '75 Volvo 164
Not much left bodywise- Triumph GT6

Oldest in the yard- '48 Chevrolet
The "Heckflosse"- '61 Mercedes 220S Fintail
Sans drivetrain- '79 RX7
Sweet primer'd rat-rody shaggin' wagon- '69 Volvo 145
