Hey guys, welcome to #ProjectPartner ;D This is my partner van! I sold my car the other day and picked up this little beauty. I Paid £710 with a bit of tax and MOT till November. Its a 1.9 diesel DW8 engine, so sould be pretty solid and good MPG. Got some plans for it, first things being it needs to be lowered! I hear 306 springs will fit these vans? If anyone can confirm would be great, guessing its the MK1 version as well.. And i might put some 106 Rallye steelies on it and see how it looks. Got plenty more ideas for it, but will post as progress takes place! Cheers, Jamie

Welcome to the forums!
You already know i like these vans, got yourself a nice example by the looks of it, and at the right price!
......yes 306 springs will do the job, i'm getting some coilovers or 40mm springs soon. Its torsion bar at the rear but after a bit of research, this isnt a really big job and fairly straightforward!
I will be following this with a keen eye, good luck with it! Keep the updates coming! And rallye steels would sit nice.....(or a set of pug gti alloys like mine!)
Most of all enjoy it........!

Bit of a boring update... Today I went to the scrappy and picked up some new mirrors, a rear light and the storage trim that is fitted on the later type vans. Got it all for £36 so not too bad really. Fitted these and van looks much better. Have yet to fit the trim, think I will use self tappers and brackets! I also took the metal bulkhead out as wont be needing this! Thinking of giving the roof a lick of paint and ply lining it now!

These are cool vans. I've got a Citroen Berlingo version of this and I reckon they are brilliant. It's my work van and my daily drive. IMO the chassis is superb, you can really throw these around with confidence and they just seem to grip. They have excellent compliance too, riding over speedbumps with ease and soaking up the worst of the pot holes our roads are littered with. The brakes have good feel and pull it up pretty smartly too. I drive mine fairly hard and it always gives good MPG too. I'd love to be able to put a later HDi engine from a 306 in mine, however I don't think my boss would be too pleased abut the idea!

Yea really good little van! No major probelms so far apart from some new glow plugs! I agree, HDI are a good engine, my friend has a 1.6 HDI in his Berlingo and pulls very well! Today i fitted the storage trim!

I got round to making a template today for the rear floor today. Going to get my mate to make it into wood and then felt it. Any suggestions on colour? I'm thinking black will probably be the best. Jamie.

No worries man, your is coming along nicely, I'm looking to get a leisure battery setup and a bit of lowering next!
One question, the storage shelf thing that you put in the cab, that the sun shades are attached too, is that from the newer shape van, as i really like the idea of getting one myself, did you get it from a scrappy and is it fairly easy to fit?!?!
Good luck with your lining......i got a load of off cut felt, but lino works just as well, goto your local carpet shop and ask if they have any going cheap/free!!
