For sale here is my 1998 Mazda MX-5 in British Racing Green.
Great low mileage only 57,500 miles, rust free example.
The reason I am selling is because my dad has bought an MG TF (MX5 is a much better car) and as he owns the house and garage my mazda has to go.
I bought the car last summer for a little run around and to have some fun with the roof down.
It ticked all the boxes, the engine sounds great even though its only a 1.6 (this means cheaper tax and insurance), the roof is not electric but can easily be put down and up in a matter of seconds as it is so light.
Being an older petrol engine its not even too bad on fuel. I easily averaged around 32 mpg over the time I drove it.
The body work is not perfect as you would expect from a 14 year old car but as you can see from the pictures, with a good clean and polish the paint really shines and still has a deep rich colour to it.
Structurally the car is perfect.
The last owner had all rust removed from the sills and re welded (common problem with MX5's) and in my ownership I had the rust cut from both rear arches, new panels welded in, painted and skimmed (another common problem) so now it is a rust free example and should be for many more years to come.
I also have a tonneau cover to cover the roof when it is down, a chrome boot rack, and an unused, boxed official Mazda MX5 aluminium suitcase with leather straps which I believe you can no longer buy from dealers.
As you can see from the last picture there are 2 small tears in the roof.
These are both common on MX5's with their original roofs which is the case with this one.
They DO NOT LEAK, they are both just aesthetic problems.
The car has been dry stored over the winter months so does not have any tax.
MOT expires 24/05/12.
Car has full service history and all old MOT's.
After £2000 or very near offer.
