If its anything like a mk2 golf which I think it might be but I'm not that big on my roccos,I'd use mk4 golf rear callipers with mk3/2 carriers and stub axles, the mk4 ones are more reliable as the 2/3 ones tend to seize,I've got this set up on my mk2 golf

Yeah, it should be the same as a mk1/2 Golf. As Gaz says, mk4 Golf caliper will go on with mk3 carriers/stub axles, but you'll need different flexy lines to fit them. In either case, you'll need a Scirocco 16v handbrake cable.
I'm looking at doing exactly this in the summer on my Scirocco if I keep it, as I've got most of the bits lying around, but I'm not sure I'd pay much money for it, they won't actually make any appreciable difference to the cars brakes at all. I'd certainly upgrade the fronts first. I'm on 280mm discs up front at the moment and it was a very noticeable improvement over standard.
It would depend what you want from it too, if you just want more bite then a different master cylinder/servo will make the biggest difference. Personally I like a firm pedal but find I cook the brakes easily as I live in a very hilly area, so I'll be sticking with the stock master/servo and upgrading the rest.

well I'm going down the 20v turbo route so want a bit more stopping force (ive just bought a 200 bhp engine) I'm going for volvo 240 turbo 4 pots at the front and upgrading to a audi s2/100 quattro master cylinder. the golf I'm getting the brakes off is 5*100 pcd so was just wondering id the axle stubs would bolt on to my swing arm/axle

Ah cool, yeah, they should bolt on. Like I say, 16v hand brake cable and you're sorted. I'd still say they're unlikely to make an appreciable difference to the braking, there's so little bias on the rear of something like a 'rocco that the drums are perfectly man enough, but then if you're coverting to 5 stud, you might as well change to discs too, they're a touch lighter than the drums and they do look better

Sounds good to me ;D,I've got a 1.8t mm2 golf,it's got the 90spec front hubs with g60 disks and it did have a 22mm master cylinder and it stops on a penny!!,that way you can keep the 4 stud without much hassle ,it was 200 bhp now I'm going for 300 and I'm pretty shure they'll still be up to the job ;D
