Driving home from the Belfast ferry at Cairnryan this afternoon, I managed to catch the tail end of a small car club meeting at a garden centre car park in, I'm pretty sure, Ballantrae on the south west coast of Scotland.
I've retraced my route on Google Earth and think I found the garden centre not quite finished.
Anyway, lovely weather and lovely people all in the same place, they made my little boy and I very welcome even though they were packing up to go home when we arrived.
Thie boy with the Civic, for example, haulled the roof off a couple of times to much applause from my boy and obviously loved owning it and talking cars.
There was a very mixed bag of cars, conventional classics and modern classics both well represented.
I overheard an animated conversation between a couple looking at this VP. They'd obviously had one like it and the lady fondly remembered it but the boy had a very different memory of it and wouldn't hear a nice word about it.
