just took the mazda out to get something to eat. got about 50-100 meters from my house and i almost get sideswiped by some curse word in a people carrier. neither of us were going particularly fast, they were just edging out of a side street and must have been admiring the carpet or something.
this isnt the first time someone hasnt been paying attention whilst edging out of a side street. someone did the exact same thing to me whilst coming out of their driveway.
don't CREEP FORWARD IF YOUR NOT F*CKING PAYING ATTENTION!
rant over! ;D

it was a well lit street. i admit my lights are a little on the weak side but still! its not like its a tiny car. and i was at least half way accross his/her nose when they finally decided to stop.
the wierd thing is, both times its happened they car almost hit the same point on both cars. the drivers side rear door/wheel area

Something similar happened when I went into the back of the Pug. She had to do an emergency stop because a car pulled out in front of her from a side street. Rob's advice of the day : Leave big gaps in traffic

Cycled to work a bit dizzy this morning, lucky to be here really, Invested in some v good LED lights so these help stareing out drivers when i forget to.
Lights on and expect anything that could happen, and try be ready to act on it is my advice.
I'm doing the above on bike and in car and trying not to get harrassed when people do daft stuff.

i think it's cos of the clocks going back, it's confused people. day before yesterday i had two people try to crash into me in the space of 15 minutes, some chav in a clito decided to switch lanes cos he was in the right hand lane to try and pass everyone at the lights but got stuck, trouble is he didn't look until after he started to move, and promptly had to jump on the brakes. then at a roundabout as i was going round a woman in an estate watched me coming round, decided quite late that she would have time to get out then realised she obviously wouldn't so also had to stop suddenly.
btw are sidelights illegal now or something? as soon as the sky is slightly overcast or the sun even starts to set everyone seems to switch their headlights on.

I was stopped and cautioned for driving on sidelights. Apparently, there was a high court ruling which states that where a driver has felt it necessary to put exterior lighting on, that lighting must be dipped headlights when the vehicle is moving. Ignore what it says in the highway code, I quoted that and got a nice sit down in the back of the patrol car while they lectured me and went though my documents. VERY tidy blonde lady cop though and I wasn't bothered.

Tip o' the day especially for bikers (good for car drivers too): When you're approaching a side road with someone waiting (or not : to pull out, aim to look them in the eye as you pass. It generally works well to get someone's attention, but if all you see is the back of their head/them leaning down/etc, then you know they're not paying attention and may not have seen you, and can then proceed with caution...
