Well I took a bid on that Ren 9 Turbo. I'm not the higest bidder but I'm not gunna bid again until later in the auction.
However I'm going to see it tomorrow night. I've already seen it briefly when Hiring a van from the place its at. However I want to know what to look out for and some inspirational Pics.
I know its completely different from a Morris Minor but its extremely Local and looks like a bit of a laugh.

R9 was a saloon no? Turbo's would be R11's (hatch?) There were R9 and R11 turbos, My brother had an 11 Turbo, it was quick and fun, But parts prices are a bit high because they seem to use alot of unique bits. Before it died of gearbox/clutch issues.

OK you live and learn! Like the wheels! Shades of Sunbeam Ti/Lotus there I think, especially the black one. Did they have the littel turbo lump from the 5 or the big one from the 21 or what. I imagine some boosting is possible for a super sleeper?

These had a great reputation in their day, virtually exctinct now, if I had room for another one I`d be bidding on that myself.

There's a guy called schakal on the eurocars (europarts) forum that's into these.
He's on the retro car club forum as well... (he probably comes on here as well but I haven't done a search)

Well been to se it and...............its awesome!! Bodywork is pretty sound and importantly it turns over (although it doesn't start). I took my mate and level headed guide along (he should be registered on here now) and even he (a confessed hater of renaults) thought it was "ok" so now just a case of bidding on it later on ;D

<Jalopy> Advertised in France with unusual frankness as 'The Lemon' </Jalopy> Fugly, and a bit pointless. I'd happily own one.

ive had both the 9 and the 11, neither were turbos mind. check the seat subframes VERY carfully as they can tear and plonk you in the back seat without warning , oh and the gearboxes can be a bit fragile. id have another 11 gtx tomorow mind ;D

No pictures, but there's a black R11 Turbo, very low on mirror-polished Turbines that I keep seeing around Brixton and Camberwell and it makes me feel funny every time I see it...
