These are stunning, Nick. Well done! I was up there at 10am this morning to watch many of the cars arrive. Unfortunately a monumental hangover meant that I was just about wiped out by 1pm, but was there long enough to see everything I wanted to. It's a cracking show, and gets bigger and bigger every year. This year saw no increase in the amount of traditional BL/BMC fodder, but a HUGE amount of later-model stuff. I don't think I've seen quite so many Rover 75's in one place before. And the increase in popularity for the metro/Rover 100 is really great to see. I'll post mine up later when I've finished uploading them.

I'd have been there if I still had my Rover 114 Cabrio! Sorry to miss it, but no related hardware to bring

Here's my take on proceedings: The Rat-Look phenomenon shows no sign of slowing down. This well-travelled Mk1 A40 was positively dwarfed by that roof rack. Gorgeous Speedwell Blue A35 packing a punch in the form of a turbocharged 1275 A-series lump allied to a Type 9 Ford 5-speeder. Had a chat to the owner who reported wiping the smile off an Austin-Healey 3000 owner on the motorway en route. Marvellous. No idea what was under the bonnet, but this more-door Minor looked lovely. Yes, that K-Series is the wrong way round. Just-finished RWD-converted Rover Metro has been a four-year labour of love for the son of one of my work colleagues. Type 9 5-speeder, allied to Sierra IRS and Mk4 Cortina front suspension. Fully BIVA-tested, too. I'm hoping to entice him along to The Gathering.... Searing lime green paint set off nicely with metalflaked roof and arches, and cool striping. SOHC Vauxhall power for this one, with bike carbs. I'm not a big fan of 13" rims on Minis, unless they look as hard as this one.... Uber-rare genuine prototype 'Beach-Mini' from 1963. Check out those wicker seats!! Not a gennie MiniSprint, but a pretty convincing homespun replica. Every panel's been chopped/altered in some way, making it a complete rolling optical illusion. Lovely. Loved the stance on this. Beaten only by...... ....this. I stood and stared at it for ages, despite the fact that other than lowering and a set of (unidientified, can you help?) steelies it was bone-stock. Maybe it was the previous night's Stella Cidre intake, but I can't help loving that. Simple but SO purposeful. Yes, it's standard. But just LOOK at it, it's flawless. Probably better-presented than it was when it rolled out of the showroom in 1989. Stunning, and my Car Of The Show. I must be getting old. ;D Lovely race-prepped MG1100. Crayford-converted Marina 1800TC. can't be many of those left. Rest of mine here, help yourselves. www.flickr.com/photos/damaged23/sets/72157629815721745/Brian

Looks ace! My best bet is that they are 14"x5.5J Montego/ MGF spare wheels. Perhaps banded, because the tyres are nicely stretched and looks quite wide. You didn't check its tyre size?

So impressed every time I see your pictures Nick, you always deliver. Looks like a good day out, might be one to add to the calender next year. Have to agree with you Brian, the Green 100 might not revolutionising anything, but it really does work.

Indeed they are stock late Montego rims. Still can't get over how something so simple can make an innocuous little shopping trolley look so hard. Drop a 1.8 VVC in that and you've got yourself one fantastic street sleeper.

Cheers all and yes that is indeed a slammed streetwise, works sooo well. I often think the same could be done with a cross polo or whatever they're called.

Every year I see loads of amazing motors that could not be a better representation of me in motor form and say to myself, OOO I must remember to get to this next year... Well I'm saying it again this year! Only I'm going to try harder this time...

Superb photos Brian & horney. What a brilliant event, literally everywhere you looked was something cool. I also spent the day wandering round chatting to random people. Kicking myself for not taking any photos now but the camouflage rover 200(?), the pair of MG Maestros at the top of the hill, that mint allegro and 'mushy' the green metro were my stand out cars I'm really feeling the need for an MGF or a MG ZT
